Christianna Wood
Senior Investment Officer, Global Equity Unit, CalPERS

Christianna "Christy" Wood is the Senior Investment Officer for the Global Equity unit of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS).

Ms. Wood is responsible for implementing and managing investment strategy and policy for the System's publicly traded equity investments worldwide. She oversees and directs the System's internal staff as well as external advisors and consultants responsible for managing more than $150 billion in domestic, international and emerging markets equity assets.

Ms. Wood also oversees CalPERS' hedge fund program, domestic long/short program, corporate governance policy and activist investing as well as the Manager Development Program. She is also responsible for over $100 billion managed in the active, enhanced and index strategies managed internally on CalPERS trading desk.

Her experience spans more than 25 years in equity and fixed income investment portfolio management. She joined CalPERS in October 2002 from Denver, Colorado-based Denver Investment Advisors where she served as a Principal of the firm, Portfolio manager, Director of Value Strategies and a member of the Management Committee.
