Steven Maijoor
Managing Director, Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets, and Vice Chair, International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators

Steven Maijoor is managing director at the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). His scope of responsibilities include: the supervision of financial reporting and auditing, the supervison of public issues and offerings, and the integrity of financial markets. He represents the AFM in the European Group of Auditors' Oversight Bodies (EGAOB) and CESR-fin (the expert group within the Committee of European Securities Regulators focused on financial reporting), and he is Vice-Chair of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR).

Steven Maijoor is also a professor of Control and Auditing at the Universiteit Maastricht (UM). He has published in journals like Accounting and Business Research - Accounting, Organizations and Society - Contemporary Accounting Research – Journal of Accounting and Public Policy- Strategic Management Journal. At the UM he served as dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (2001-2004).
